Amelia
I'll be turning 37 in June and really starting to feel the pull of 40. My body finally seems to be aging. So, my plan is to start hitting the gym on a regular basis, and I'm sure I'll regale you with all the mind-numbingly boring details of that.
On August 24 of 2013, I married The Wife. We are absolute, utter opposites. She is an extrovert. I'm a staunch introvert. She's a jock. I'm a geek. She's a Southerner. I'm a Yankee. But yet, at the heart of it all, we are the perfect counterparts to one another. We've been together for five and a half years now and I cannot imagine my life without her.
We are raising my 16 year old son, The Boy. He's wicked smart, precocious, learning to be independent. I can honestly say that I love being the parent of a teenager. I know that is not a popular opinion, but I have found that this age has brought so much closeness and respect to our relationship. He's amazing and together, we're amazing!
Hopefully, sometime in the next year, we'll be adding child number two to our family, which should prove to be intensely entertaining. Starting over again after nearly 17 years is terrifying and exhilarating.
To throw a little chaos into the mix, I'm also in the process of heading back to school. I recently have felt the call to ministry and need to complete my bachelor's degree before I apply to seminary. It should be an interesting couple of years.
I've been working on developing a "niche" for this blog, but I think my niche is that I am nicheless! We're in the process of Trying to Conceive, but I don't think of myself as a "fertility blogger" or a "gay pregnancy blogger". I have a child (well a young-man), but I don't consider myself a "mommy blogger". I'm working on my health and fitness, but I am certainly not a "weight-loss blogger". If you were to see how I dress on a daily basis, you would understand why I can't call myself a "fashion blogger".
