Printable Holiday Entertainment

I am the first to admit that I am not the world's greatest hostess.  I love to bake and cook and prepare all sorts of amazing treats and drinks for my friends and family. At any gathering at our host, there is generally enough food to feed a small (or medium) army.

What there usually is a lack of is entertainment. I turn my television to the music channels and maybe pull out a deck of cards. My friends are pretty social people, so sometimes that works. People mingle. They have a few drinks. They tell a bunch of stories.

But sometimes, it's a massive disaster. There are long uncomfortable silences. People tend to sit and stare at one another awkwardly over their plate of barbeque little smokies.

This year, I plan on printing out a variety of the games available at Python Printable Games. Python's printable Christmas game pack is full of games for every age level. There are sheets of trivia, scavenger hunts, paper dolls, coloring, and silly holiday facts. So much fun and something for everyone! I really appreciated the fact that the pack includes both religious and secular options, so I can cater the games I print out for any crowd. *And* once you buy them, they are yours to keep. So, you can print them over and over for every eyar!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Currently

The beautiful ladies over at Harvesting Kale and Ot and Et host a cute little quicky of a link-up that I've been wanting to join in on for a few weeks now, but never seem to get around to it. And I finally caught it today! Hooray!

This weeks themes: Loving, Wishing, Moving, Riding, Needing

I am currently LOVING our new Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera. With just a few quick tutorials on the web and reading through the manual, I am taking pictures that are more interesting than anything I have ever taken before and I'm actually enjoying photography again. In fact, I'm enjoying it so much that I'm considering changing one of my classes for next semester to a digital photography class.

The Boy is currently WISHING that the snow would keep falling all night long. They had a late start today, which pushed his normal waking time two hours later. At 16 years old, the kid would sleep all the time if he could.

Currently, we seem to always be MOVING our furniture around. I added a new love seat and an oversize chair to our living room set about six months ago. I have always wanted a "chair and a half" that I can sink into to read books and drink tea. Since I brought the chair and love seat home, I have only sat in the chair to tie my shoes. The two pieces are also significantly larger than the pieces they replaced. When I drug the Christmas tree out of storage, we realized that we don't really have enough room anymore.

I am currently RIDING the wave of a bit of holiday excitement and feeling pretty good, mood-wise, which is certainly nice, but makes me worry a bit that the wave is going to fall. For right now, I'll just keep surfing.

I am currently NEEDING a haircut! The Wife just had her hair cut last weekend and it's finally starting to look the way she likes it to look. My hair? Still soccer mom, boring, frumpy old me. I think about cutting it all off, but then I remember that every time I do, I regret it. So, I'm pondering and gawking at photos of adorable styles on Pinterest.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

The holidays have officially landed at Casa Amelia y Familia. I'm still struggling to actually get in the spirit and feel the holiday but I will always fake it 'til I make it. Even with tinsel. I definitely did not want to decorate the house. But when the cashier at Target laughed at my bah humbug attitude on Saturday night, I decided it was time to at least attempt to shake the funk.

Since I always get a kick out of seeing into the homes of other bloggers, I thought I'd give you a little decoration tour.

Our little tree is a bit on the pathetic side. It stands six feet tall, but it's "one of them new-fangled" slim trees. It's new as of last year, but for some reason when we put it up this year, it looks sparse and lopsided. I think we might be inheriting a full sized tree that is 7-feet tall, and if we don't, we'll be hitting the stores on the 26th for the Christmas clearance sales.

OOOO  Shiny!

Hidden among all of our ornaments are three perfect paw prints. If you've never tried to press a cat's paw into a blob of salt dough, I do not recommend it. I'm surprised I walked away from the situation with all of my fingers.

I recently was informed by a friend that our Nativity is a bit on the phallic side. Now I cannot look at it in the same way. So, I'll be shopping for a new Nativity this season, as well.

30 Days of Lists - December

It's the first day of 30 Days of Lists - December! (Or I should say 31 days of lists, to be accurate.) and I am so so excited!  I initially was just going to blog each day, but then while I watched the other participants prepare books and covers, I got inspired.

I realize that I'm totally *not* an artsy lady.  I'm super crafty, but I can't draw for the life of me and I've never really have been able to figure out the whole scrapbooking thing.  I want to be artsy!  And I will just keep trying. Even if it sucks.

So, debuting my 30 Days of Lists - December book:
